BIOGRAPHY

​

Warren was born in South Africa and was very fortunate to Grow up on a family game farm where he was influenced by the magical light of the transforming African sunsets . Warren studied  at the Leggats academy of Design in the early 90s in South Africa  . He was inspired at the time by the fashion illustrations of Thierry Mugler , Karl Lagerfeld and  the surrealism of Salvador Dali .

 

“Computer graphics and design weren’t a thing in those days so we had to develop skills with paints pens and one of my favorite mediums airbrush .” All these elements can be seen in his work today as he captures mystical symbolism with a mixture of metallic paints , acrylics and spray paint

“I love the way the metallics change color and the mood of the painting , its quiet hard sometimes as you need to paint on 2 dimensions , but when the light moves across the painting its quite magical !”

 

Warren worked for many years in the clothing industry and corporate industry  but never really had time to paint .

 

‘I'm a Libra so I love beautiful things “ In fact the les etoiles range is inspired by signs of the zodiac and the idiosyncrasies that define us as individuals .

 

Warren attended the Brown school of art in NZ to study paint techniques, and it wasn’t till the covid lock downs in Auckland did he finally pick up a brush . My journey into the aesthetic continues and I invite you to join my on this path , wherever it may lead – warren
